Print may be dead, but printing isn’t. Pazazz hopped on the viral bandwagon with this Dave Attell style rant:
Funny. And true. But mostly funny.

Apparently this is the intro sequence to a Lakai Footwear skate movie titled Fully Flared. Very well done. Be sure to stick around long enough to catch the finale:
EDIT: Lakai had the video taken down. I guess they hate free publicity? DailyMotion still has it up though.

This just in: Saw on some other posts that the explosion at the end is quite real:
“the most dangerous part of the introduction was Mike Mo Capaldi’s switch flip, which was followed by a staircase being blown up with napalm”
Also it was directed by Spike Jones, and as you’ve probably figured out by now, the music is by M83.
What do soup cans, gum balls, and eggs have in common? Well, besides being round, they’ve all been used to trigger programmable drum machines:
The Drum Buddy
Triggered by light shining through holes in a large aluminum can.

Bubblegum Sequencer
Triggered by colored gum balls placed on a grid.

“Almost Certified”
Cumputer sequencer triggers hammers that hit various sized eggs… for some reason.

You’ll never guess what this is an ad for. Stick with it for the last 10 seconds:
You couldn’t ask for a better tagline too!
This is either the coolest thing I’ve ever seen or I’ve just been staring at the screen all day:

Here’s a fun little nine minute short film from Jim Henson. From the IMDB:
Dislocation in time, time signatures, time as a philosophical concept, and slavery to time are some of the themes touched upon in this nine-minute, experimental film, which was written, directed, and produced by Jim Henson-and starred Jim Henson! Screened for the first time at the Museum of Modern Art in May of 1965, Time Piece enjoyed an eighteen-month run at one Manhattan movie theater and was nominated for an Academy Award for outstanding short subject.
Enjoy.

Here’s an ingenious ad for the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind:
A quick bit of googling found a clever print ad too.
Here’s a cool little piece using orange safety tape and a chain link fence from Something Planned (direct link – who still uses frames?!) complete with time-lapse video of its creation. Via NOTCOT.
When we were shopping for houses last year my wife was (barely) amused at my ability to immediately dismiss a house simply because the arrangement of door, windows, and roof line made it look like it was making a stupid face. After stumbling on this site, I’m thrilled to discover I am not alone. The faces are everywhere.
